A screenshot from my mobile banking app

On August 31, I decided to make a cash withdrawal from another bank's ATM, which I had successfully used last year without any problems. So I didn't really expect any problems this time either. The withdrawal itself went normally, and the ATM gave me the money without showing any warning or asking me to confirm any extra fee. So everything was the same as my previous experience. I just took the money and didn't think about it anymore.

Then, this morning, I checked my mobile banking app and noticed two strange operations for 4975 ₽ ($58), both dated September 2, two days after I had withdrawn the cash. Since I had taken money from the ATM twice, both operations were shown as cash withdrawals. At first, I didn't understand what they were. I was a little confused because I knew I hadn't made any other cash withdrawals on September 2. Then I realized that they were actually fees for the withdrawals I had made on August 31. That's when I understood what had happened. I just thought everything was as usual when I was using the ATM, so I had no idea that I would be charged such a big fee. If I had known about it, I would never have used that ATM.

So, of course, it was a real disaster for me when I realized that I had paid 4975 ₽ ($58) just for withdrawing cash. That's not a small amount of money, so I definitely didn't want to just leave it like that. I immediately prepared a complaint and contacted the support team to explain what had happened and try to get my money back.

Luckily, it turned out to be much easier than I expected. They didn't ask me any questions or try to postpone my complaint. Instead, the support team replied to my first message with a special link where I just had to fill in some information about my bank account and send it to them. I did that, and to my surprise, just a few seconds later, the money was already back in my account.
